PERSON is a non-profit, non-government secular voluntary organization registered under the Society Registration Act. PERSON believes in effective social networking of available and requisite resources, through integrated planning and community participation.
PERSON is inspired by upholding truth in all its endeavors to target harmonious human development for all sections and strata of the society. It operates through a set of combination strategy which research, interpretation of findings, designing practical strategies and effective implementation to achieve desired goals.
PERSON is committed to sustainable community development programmes through participatory research and development, capacity building and issue based intervention at various stages having its strong base in rural and tribal areas. The organization believes in providing a concrete platform to work towards an integrated development model. It explores grassroots level realities, through intensive team approach, need assessment studies, baseline surveys and research.
As a socially committed organization we aspire to encourage and catalyze basic education among underprivileged children, connecting them into mainstream of development in a sustained manner. It has also provided necessary training, motivation and skills to youth and women for critically analyzing theirs problems and to come out with suitable plan of action for their development. The training is entirely based on participatory learning methods according to the local problems and issues.
PERSON supports, promotes, facilitates and organizes innovative development activities for the urban and rural and tribal poor in the fields of women empowerment, handloom & handicraft, education, vocational training, health care, child labour, art & culture, environment and nation building through empowerment and social upliftment.
We believe that the various problems that the society faces are interconnected- poverty and overconsumption, unemployment and agricultural crisis, social injustice and middle class apathy, health and environmental degradation and so on. Hence the approach to address these should be holistic, and all of us are part of both the problem and solution.
